You pick something up. You put it down somewhere else. Write about some of the many times this has occurred in your life.
Tell what you picked up. Say where it was. Tell where you put it down.
You can include times when you engaged a person, a machine, or a tool to help with the picking up and putting down.
Are there things that you can pick up and put down that aren’t physical objects? You can pick up a bad case of the flu or an ear-worm tune, for instance, but these are not things that you can put back down.
Do the exercise a second time by going somewhere where you can observe people. What do they pick up and put down?
When you have filled a page, be sure to give your work a title and write the date on it.
