Begin by drawing about a half-dozen circles spaced randomly over your page. Make the circles about two inches in diameter.
Inside each circle, draw a letter. Any letter. You can choose letters that spell out a word, but you don’t have to. Decorate the letter inside each circle. Make them all ornate.
Then begin to write. Tell a story from your day, your week or your life. Invent a story from your imagination. Or freewrite–write whatever happens to pop into your mind without regard for “making sense.”
The only requirement is that when you arrive at one of the ornate letters, you must use that letter in what you are writing.
When you reach the bottom of the page, continue to decorate the letters and any other white space that appears on the page.
Give you work a title and write the date on it as well.
