Set up your page by first drawing a line where the title will go. Then divide the rest of the page into four equal-sized sections.
On a sheet of scrap paper, write down the names of four objects that you are familiar with. For each one, write down three informational details. The details could be about the object’s appearance, history or function.
Adopt the voice of an emcee, the one who stands up on stage and gets the audience excited about what is to come. In each of the four sections, use the details you jotted down about each object to write out how the emcee would introduce it and invite it onstage to boisterous rounds of applause.
Make the object sound as exciting and mysterious as possible. Don’t mention the name of the object until the very end.
When you have finished, give your work a title and write the date somewhere on it, too.
