Imagine yourself inside of a small bubble: your skin, the room, any kind of smallish bubble around you. Write down what you are aware of inside that bubble: sounds, smells, thoughts, people and things.
Draw an imaginary bubble that’s a bit larger than the first one. What are you aware of inside that one?
Imagine the bubble expanding to become bigger. Now what’s in it with you?
Imagine ever larger bubbles around you and record what you become aware of until you have filled the page.
Be sure to give your work a title and write the date on it.
You can repeat this exercise and draw the imaginary bubble around someone else. Then you will be practicing empathy.
