Divide your page into four equal spaces by drawing a horizontal line across the middle of the page and a vertical line down the center. Label 3 of the spaces Plant, Animal, and Thing.
You will write about a plant in the Plant space, an animal in the Animal space and an inanimate object in the Thing space.
Try not to plan. Drain your mind until it’s empty then write about whatever pops in first.
When those three spaces are full, fill up the Place space. Write about the place that contains the plant, the animal and the thing you have written about. It could be a physical place, such as your bedroom or the entire universe. Or it could be an intangible place like your first marriage or your imagination.
Be sure to give your work a title and write the date on it.
